Role Overview:
As the first sales leader at BACUTI, you will drive our go-to-market strategy across Europe with potential to evolve into a global leadership role. You’ll be pivotal in establishing our market presence, building relationships with enterprise clients, and eventually developing a high-performing sales team. This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the sales function within a mission-driven startup addressing urgent environmental sustainability challenges.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the sales strategy for BACUTI’s sustainability SaaS platform in the European market
- Drive revenue growth through direct sales to enterprise clients across diverse industries
- Build and maintain relationships with C-suite executives and sustainability leaders
- Articulate BACUTI’s value proposition to prospects facing complex regulatory compliance challenges
- Create compelling business cases demonstrating ROI of our sustainability solutions
- Establish sales processes, methodologies, and KPIs from the ground up
- Collaborate with founders on product roadmap based on market feedback and customer needs
- Represent BACUTI at industry events, conferences, and sustainability forums
- Build and mentor a sales team as the company grows
- Work cross-functionally with product, engineering, and marketing teams
Required skills and experience
- 10+ years of enterprise software sales experience, with at least 5 years in leadership roles
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding sales targets and driving revenue growth
- Excellent communication & presentation skills, with ability to translate technical features into business value
- Experience selling SaaS to enterprise clients, preferably in sustainability, compliance, or related sectors
- Strong understanding of enterprise sales cycles and ability to navigate complex organizational structures
- Experience building and scaling sales teams from early-stage to mature organizations
- Knowledge of sustainability regulations affecting enterprises (e.g., EU CSRD, California SB-253) is desirable
- Experience with consultative selling approaches and solution-based methodologies
- Strong network of industry connections across European markets
- Willingness to be hands-on as an individual contributor while building the sales foundation
Compensation:
